Toni Mac's TED Talk is en pointe, educational, and real. "If you care about gender equality or poverty or migration or public health, then sex worker rights matter to you." I have been searching for the right article or essay to convey all that Mac covers in her talk.
I've been diving in and out of these pages, savoring every passage and allowing Nelson's words to dialogue in my own thoughts as a coffee companion. There's lots of chewy bits of theory and moments of graceful epiphanies and heady ruminating. But what I remember most clearly is her description of her partner's drawing:
...two Popsicles are talking to each other. One accuses, "You're more interested in fantasy than reality." The other responds, "I'm interested in the reality of my fantasy." Both of the Popsicles are melting off their sticks.
As we discuss fantasy and reality, we are unraveling to nothingness.
I need another cup of coffee...
I participated in a feature story on CBS Channel2 NYC News on motherhood and sexuality. It was a brief shot with way too many references to 50 Shades, but I am still happy that the message is out there. Empower your sex life. Contact me for classes--private and group instruction on Bondage, Kink, Spanking...
Everything is connected: when you empower your sex life, you empower other parts of your life, as well.
