Chinese Moon Festival

This full moon is a celebration of Harvest, Gratitude, Darkness, and the Yin of the Yin/Yang Taoist tradition.  It is a time of reverence to the Moon Goddess, Cheng O, who saved the world from a tyrant and to the Moon Rabbit, who sacrificed their life for the sustenance of humanity.

We eat moon cakes in the open night sky:rRed bean for sweetness, a whole egg for new beginnings. We light red lanterns to float our wishes to the heavens.

It is taking a long while to process the chaos that keeps happening in our world. Radical love is an ongoing revolution. Remember to include the past and the future in your community--take hope from the blood of ancestors and the laughter of children. Love yourself. Love those in your home. Love those on the street, as you walk out the door.

With serenity and respect,
Yin
